I do love it so much when you tell me off for doing something I didn't know I shouldn't! This is the first secondhand phone i have ever bought and it worked fine until 4g started flipping around.

It is with 3 which is how I know I have no coverage, because, of course, I went on the internet to check what coverage I have. Or rather I do but cannot talk as I don't have a phone that is 4gVoLTE or "calling" compatible. Still works for texts, internet etc.
So none of the above "Yer" statements are the reason. The closest would be "Yer fone is old old cr@p that doesn't have 4gVoLTE." They've switched it off for peeps like me so that I go out and by yet more of their carp. so they will simply lose a customer.
My really old Motorola V171 on Tesco Mobile pay as you go, still works fine, I can still talk on it and send texts and apparently even use it with the internet if I could be bothered to find out how. It cost peanuts new. And it works on the strongest signal it can find.
Nothing wrong with the antenna, on either of my mobiles. It works as well as any of our phones here and in Frogland.

Right.
The HW issue is sorted. One closed gate valve which is now open.
I have precisely one motorised valve that's all.
But, like you I am mystified as working on all the central heating systems, gas boiler driven, that I have had in 4 houses, I have never had a problem like this.
I have had one airlocked rad once up until now.
I thought I was getting on top of it before dinner, but while we were eating it went back to square one.
I nearly had nearly all the rads working.
I think I tried to go too fast, getting one rad working, then another, then another..... I had all 3 on the top floor working, then carried on downstairs, got one working, then tried to get another on stream..... That's where it went wrong.
I'll be back on it tomorrow, taking more time and after having done more research. It is only a 7 rad system now as the other 7 have all been closed off for ages.
I just wish I could visualize it and see how the airlock or airlocks developed in the first place, then I might be able to solve it.
I think my system is the same as yours. Called a "Y" plan with one motorised diverter valve. All HW, all CH or Mixed flow.
On mine there's a link in the 10-way control box to give "boiler priority" so if the boiler is under temp it "calls" and the valve gets operated to no rads and all HW. I wonder if you have a dicky tank thermostat permanently calling?
Best of luck with it. Grovelling around on the floor at our age is no fun at all is it? :(

Who’s Fred? 🤷‍♂️
Here's a couple ----

Mornin
Damp and grey today
Whisking GF to hospital for a consultation today so wont get anything done.
Ohhh for a nice Winter garage with lights to work in
Going to be cold next week so I doubt if soldering outside will be an option
Hey ho, got plenty of connector blocks :)
Stay warm and dry all :)

...and I am back from my scan.
Thumper has grown to 4.3cm (up from 4.0); so that's twice the size of a "normal" aorta.
Lady said.. "Nothing to worry about not in any danger, when it gets over 4.5 we put you on quarterly scans and we start thinking about an OP at 5cm+. You probably have another 5 years to go before any surgical intervention is needed".
So that's fine and dandy. :D

I’ve never seen it written like that before until I googled your version. It looks like a phonetic spelling but you never know with these IrishGaelsScots
"The term 'whisky' derives originally from the Gaelic 'uisge beatha', or 'usquebaugh', meaning 'water of life'. Gaelic is that branch of Celtic spoken in the Highlands of Scotland. "

From https://www.scotchwhiskyexperience....ves originally,Scotland for hundreds of years.

(I just Googled "Where did the word "whisky" come from?" I like to be basic but detailed with my Googling!

Yours is more sophisticated than mine as I only have access to HW or HW and CH together. Can't have CH on its own.
The tank thermostat is on the side of the tank and is adjustable, so I can set it to any temp and it clicks when it gets moved past the temp the tank it at, so I know it is working. I have it set on 60 degs C all the time. (The whole system is programmed to go off during the night and back on in the morning. but it is on constant while I am working on it, unless of course it is "off".)
There is one electronically operated valve which also has a small lever underneath it for some sort of manual over-ride. Don't really know how to use it so I leave it alone.
The pump over-run stat tends to fail every now and then and leads to banging pipes if not attended to. When I first moved in with W the pipes used to bang like crazy, she told me that they, i.e. she and her ex had had plumbers in to try and fix this but they never managed it. I had a look at the installation manual etc and thought that this could possibly be it. So I went to buy one, the guy in the heating engineers spares place told me "these don't often go" but once fitted the problem went away.

(The boiler has only 3 positions, High, low and off) and I am now following the procedure I eventually found online.
A quick look online only tells you basically to just bleed the rad in question. Well I have done that to all of them and they all allow water to come out, NO hissing at all.
There is also a bleed valve connected to a pipe Tee-ed of the pipe to the tank coil, in such a way that it is above the height of the top of the tank. This one you can turn with your fingers. This was the ONLY part of the heating system that I touched when trying to turn the hot water off i.e. isolate it so I could work on the hot water feed in the utility room.
I have to believe that when I did that (the whole system was off,) the rads and pipes etc were cooling and managed to suck air in through that bleed valve. When I did it, there was no noise and no water came out. Since then I have bled it and that time water did come out.

So all rads are off except the one in the garage. As each one gets properly off, I will turn the open the valves on the next one and once that one starts to heat up I'll close the valves on the previous one.
So then on like that until they are all done. Banging on pipes I can get to, rads and valves with a big rubber hammer as I go.
Once I have done them all than I'll turn all rads on, one at a time, seeing if any still stay cold.

I hope I'll be lucky.

Not too good but still not bad.:)
I feel for you. Ticking time bomb and all that.....:(
Glad you are getting the monitoring that you need.

They have only started doing this fairly recently I think.

(I knew two guys personally, both fitness fanatics, in their 40s, who died from this.)

So it's great that this is becoming more routine.;)

Got the phone bill today.
Found out that two calls to Barclays on their 0345 number cost me £13 in all. and all that was to try and use their online service, which I never managed to do. Still at least the two accounts are now closed.

This follows on the heels of a package from the Nationwide telling us what we can no longer do with one of our accounts. Mostly to do with going all paperless, but some other annoying stuff too.
At least we still have a branch in our town.
I feel sorry for all the peeps working for them who will be made redundant as a result of the BS making its customers do the work they used to do.

To think I once knew a very posh woman who was absolutely lovely but did have a few strange quirks. This was in the days of bank charges for everyone. She'd go to a bank to get cash out and simply handed her cheque book over the counter. The teller would open it to find no cheque had been written. He'd say this to her and she would tell him how much she wanted. He'd still look befuddled but eventually got the message, or she told him, to fill it in himself including the stub then she would sign it. When I asked her why she did this she told me "What do I pay my bank charges for?". Great character! :vb-award::vb-award::vb-award::vb-award:

Just remembered. (on the same theme) Did I tell you how we couldn't pay the plumber cos the account name he gave us didn't match his a/c number and sort code? Well we agreed he'd come round and pick up a cheque. I left the name part blank for him to fill in so that it would be right.
He emailed me yessdi to say that the bank had rejected his cheque as there was no name filled in!!!!:vb-doh::vb-doh::vb-doh:.
He's coming round to pick up the cash! Good thing he only lives round the corner!

Re divorce.
How is this for the most stinking depth to which a soon-to-be ex can sink to?
W goes to a sewing group and one of the ladies has said that she is no longer coming as she has too much on at the moment helping her son deal with his divorce. It has got completely out of hand.

Hi poopbag of a wife has invented, and told the court, that he is a paedophile. (am I allowed to use the correct term on here?)
Of course he isn't but you can imagine the nightmare he has had to go through to see his kids, even supervised.
Some people should be strangled at birth.:mad::mad:
