im fully booked, the problem is materials just bought the last pallet of sarking board off the

Just realise you are lucky living in the British Isles.
The cost of wood abroad is insane. We live in a forested area, in France. the Montagne Noire is so called as with all the oak woods over the land it looks black. There are schools of forestry and all over the place there are also places flogging wood. But the prices are eyewatering. Which is why we imported all the wood we needed.

PS what the feck is a "domra", a room in the roof? (Wild guess here!)

Well the news is that the third attempt at gluing the bust bit into the light fitting with epoxy worked!
So it is now hanging in the stairwell resplendent with its 36 hanging glass droplets, each one about 6" long with a drop of about 20mm across at the bottom end.
Not bad for £38 at the local auction!
Wifey is happy!;););););)

Shame!:(:(:(.
The plot next to us was bought and started on by a couple of lesbos who then split up. So there is a 6000 sq metre plot with the basement part of a house built then it all stopped. Fab views. Prolly going for a song. And obvs with planning although it will have gone over by now. but would be possible to renew it, no prob, it is in a "Zone constructible" so they couldn't stop you. Planning is much more straight forward over there.
And at least you'd have decent neighbours!
Covid is a temporary thing, It'll be fine soon once Frogland gets on top of the vaccination prog like what we have!
600m metres up mind!:):):):):)
