It sure is wild out there, even the wee one has decided to cancel his alf rescu! I don't think the big un knows what is going on but, come 9am, he will find out. Meanwhile, I am back in me pit wi me cuppa. I am keeping everything crossed that our oaks are still standing!:rolleyes:
 
Well, Ciara has not done any damage here (yet), but the strongest winds and heaviest rain are still yet to come (1300 - 1600 here).
No power outage so far, and I shall be cooking my brunch at 12.
Coffee & a web-browse first though.

The apex of my roof is now full! This is obviously the des res they have been planning throughout the last year. I just wish they were a little more house proud and made an effort to clean the front door step instead of leaving up to us!:rolleyes::)

Took the coast road just for fun. Spring tide meant lots of spray and standing water, which was fun :)
Chook inna oven. Spuds, parsnips an carrots too.
Cabbage good to go.

I was woken today by a neighbour who had a fallen tree.. o_Oo_O
thinking it was a little apple tree or something, i blame my sleep deprived state! :confused:

No it was a 30ft silver birch, that had snapped in half :eek:

An axe saw the half still attached to the earth cut up..

the rest i pulled down my drive with the rangie :D V8 powah!!

Have loads of firewood..

It fell in the perfect place too!!

Lots of rayn came layter. Ah cud see it collectin int garig gutta so ah went ter see me wata but ter seed ow much be flowd int un number 2 were leaking it oot top. It be adder chunk of moss blokerin the ootput to number free. Ah removed it un if flowd liker tap.

Mornin folks, the wind has certainly dropped from yesterday but it is still blowing quite strongly. I am relieved to see that, apart from a few 'ends', our oaks seem to have survived unscathed.:) Normal service has now been resumed in the canine department so I will try to give them their usual daily 'playskool' activities with their friends - assuming they come out to play too.:rolleyes: One positive is that we are never going to be flooded! I feel very sorry for anyone who suffers from water damage and I hope all of you are safe from that.
