Freelanders have no sense if occasion! You wouldn't look forward to getting home from holiday and driving it! Only a Defender can do that!

(If it starts!) :)

I look forward to driving ma hippo. If I were to go on holiday I'd take it with me. Nice long drive there and back. :)

He's delivering a truck and taken his Freelander to drive back on the return trip. If it's broke'd then there's nowt wrong with that. It's not as if your heap dun't break down. :p

None of my heaps have been on the back of a recovery lorry, touch wood...

NO NOT THAT!!! FFS!

Mainly cause they'd prolly fall apart if ya tried to pull'em onto one but that's not the point :D

land rovers don't break down. its just the ecotech kicking in to save fuel. runs a good 35mpg with ecotech :D

Ma hippo's been on a recovery truck twice, but not for recovery. I hired the first to take it to the garage when it's rear brake cylinder leaked. At the time I didn't know how to fix it. The second time I hired it to take it to the garage when me hawkeye wiped out the rolling code between the immobiliser computer and the engine computer, so it wouldn't start unless the codes were resynchronised. It's a lot easier hiring a truck to get it to the garage than carrying it yerself. Me roof rails are quite strong but they're not comfortable enough to use to carry it like a ruck sack. Pushing it int an option either. On both occasions I had complete faith it could be winched on the truck with the towing eye. No rust so it wouldn't have pulled oft. Trucks were similar to the one below. ;)

In my opinion they are very capable cars but yes, I have heard that the electrics can sometimes be a little problematic....

We certainly have our fair share of electrical gremlins. The intermittent gremlins are the worst to find. I have one at the moment and am near to tracking it down. You need the fault to happen whilst looking into it, which is half the battle. I guess it's easier to fault find your cars? Look for the fell'd oft missing part or hit everything with a hammer until it starts.

In a field where it can go and not by the side of the road where it still has trouble (ahem - above)... Probably just been over Everest or sumthin and was ritual for a car with that kind of soul to burst into flames. Think I can see its eagle spirit flying off in the distance...

You can't put a 'best 4x4xfar' in the rear window of a freelander!
