Driving in the same lane for mile on mile
Its not hogging, its hoggin (no "g" on the end). Mix of clay, gravel, sand. Also a term used by boaty types in some parts of the uk for the bottom of the sea - such as "my boat is stuck in the 'oggin".

Sorry, should be hoggin. Is chips / lumps of granite in with clay an sand. You whack it down as a base for slabs an driveways. These days better known as MOT type 1 crushed stone.Hoggin is easier
