Last November I replaced both valves in me kitchen mixer tap, quarter turn ceramic type because the cold side was dripping. Hot side was still ok but changed as I had bought a new pair. Anyroad up the new hot side started dripping a couple of weeks ago. So instead of buying more new valves I clicked and collected a new tap of identical type from Wix. As an experiment I decided to replace the old hot valve (kept in spares box for matching in case of need to buy a replacement again). As luck would have it I found a brand new still in packaging valve which has been lurking in my plumbing spares for at least a decade. And fitted it. And it works  . Next time it starts dripping I will fit the new tap.

That my lad and some of his really good mates who are helping him are at the NEC at a games fair and he is selling his card game. He told me earlier that once it opened today it has been pretty hectic. I hope he sells every copy he has taken there (800) and then point potential buyers to Amazon where it can also be bought from. My fingers are crossed that this really takes off for him and fixes all his employment/money problems. :D

The EX daughter in Law is being really awkward and trying to score points.
We are looking after the kids while my son is at a trade show in Brum.
She is meant to have the kids this W/E but instead of coming over here to pick them up (like she normally would from the school on a Friday at 2:15) she wants us to go all the way over to hers (4 towns away) and deliver them to her.
She is really upsetting my missus with her awkward attitude.
My answer is..
"Oh, it's all too much for you? No worries we will keep them all weekend so you can take a break. Our son can pick them up on Monday, shame you won't see your kids". This will especially niggle her because the boy is off to Holland with the school on Monday morning at 5AM for a week. :D
Sure you don't want to deliver them to her Sunday evening? 🤣🤣🤣

Over here we had a problem with the cold side, it would not turn off properly.
We don't want to change the tap as the handles are porecelain and match the handles on the cupboards and drawers.
So I went to the local DIY place and found that by a miracle they had a cartridge for one, luckily it wasn't the other side that went as again for some barmy reason they only stocked on for the cold side.

i had already mended it once, the supposed static ceramic disc was turning when it shouldn't have, so I put a blob of solder in to keep it still. That worked for a coupla years!

but good on you, you cannot keep enough spares!!:):):)
