Tis a shame mfi closed. Me argoss wardrobes ain't gottid good reviews. Peeps saying they is cheap fin wood. Eye want new ones. Pine printed paper on chipboard mfi style wood do.
Back in about 1984 My ex and I bought our first house.
We were so skint we bought a bed and an MFI wardrobe, the rest of the furniture was begged, borrowed or made of cardboard.
That flipping wardrobe, a triple, was so heavy the W and I couldn't get it up the stairs even though it was in a box or two.
So a beefy neighbour helped me. and once into the bedroom he asked me if I had a degree in engineering, saying, "You'll need one to put this together!". even the instructions started with "put the kettle on, make yourself a cup of tea and sit down and read this through before starting." I kid you not!
As it was made from chipboard covered in a sort of paper resembling red wood, I soon learned that you can only really put a screw into it once, you might get away with it twice. But that is it. This was almost the first DIY I had ever done. I only realised what the small piece of hardboard was for once I had built it, having had to undo bits of it to be able to line up the tracks for the backing board. Guess what the small piece was for? Wasn't in the instructions.
The last wardrobe I made had a side made from a big sheet of MDF. Floor to ceiling. I routered the front edge twice so that it is curved in profile. Strong as anything.
Life sometimes goes full circle!
