Well yessdi W was going through a load of silk scarves she bought when in amongst them she found a real novelty.
A WW2 1942 RAAF escape and evasion map of Western New Guinea. Amazing thing.
She's had a search to find its value as she doesn't want to keep it...

Rather cream-crackered today.
Like so many others I have to work with the weather.
It was forecast to be dry today so I decided to tackle the timing belt change on W's Pluriel. Despite it being a Sunday.
Wot a PITA. So little space and huge lack of vision so eye's on things like the tensioner was a real problem.
Still, nearly finished.
All I have left to do is the under wheel arch protection stuff to replace, the aux drive belt and putting the offside wheel back on.
Much trickier than when I used to change the timing belt on her BX years ago.
And when I took the old one off, which has done nearly 80k, it looks as good as if it had only been put on two weeks ago. Never ever taken off a timing belt in such good condition. Never mind!
Haynes manual really got a lot of things wrong so thank God for a bit of experience and common sense. I didn't do about half the things said manual said I should.
But I would dearly love to know how the tensioner is supposed to work. And when I took the old one off it wasn't set up apparently as it should have been. From the factory. Yet the car ran like a Swiss watch and could go really well for a 1600 twin cam 16 valve from 2004.
I have yet to start it up, so cross fingers. (Haven't done a timing belt in years. )

Roast lamb dins was larverly. :):):):)
