Bit of a plumbing problem today. Doing a dry run to set the angles before glueing and couldn't get this bit of pipe out, no matter what I did.
Eventually using a hairdryer to heat the fitting a bit managed to yank the pipe out. Saved an otherwise pointless 50km round trip Monday to get another fitting as I only have exactly the number needed. Length of pipe no problem, just cut another piece

Having had exactly the same sorts of problems fitting out the interior of our place over here in Frogland, just wonderng, noseyley I'll grant, whether you would be willing to vouchsafe only roughly of course where said place might be??
Your pic reminds me of the piece of modern art I had to put together to be able to plumb the waste in to connect the downstairs bog to the drain as left by the builders in order to make it central in the space allowed. They had put the waste central to the room, tiled around it, forgetting there was going to be trunking in one corner.
I'll have to dig around to find pics of it!

You could of course have cut it flush then used a short hacksaw blade to cut it at a parallel to the outer pipe fitting, in more places than one if nec, but your way was quicker and probably neater!Bit of a plumbing problem today. Your DIY place is a heck of a lot further away than ours not that they are the cheapest mind but even the best local one isn't that far, you must be right in the boonies!

Now bog is central
Up very early today to start picking apples. Have done about 88 kilos and most off just one very productive tree. Still got quite a long way to go although apart from one the other trees haven't been so productive.
Flipping hot now so in for a cool down before going out again. Behind the big weedwhacker yet again.

Flipping hot now so in for a cool down before going out again. Behind the big weedwhacker yet again.

It is usually possible to twist the pipes out by hand - there was another fitting on the end which is now mangled but that came off. The length of the whole run was critical so I pushed them all the way home to get it right, that one was stuck. Maybe the internal bore had a lump or flaw.
I did consider a hacksaw blade inside but was worried I would make a mess of it, not helped by it being an angled fitting and there is a shoulder inside which the pipe should fit up to and it would have been difficult not to damage that, or the inside face of the bore.
The nearest big DIY place is In fact a 95km round trip! I would have gone to a big plumbing shop I use and prefer to use uniform parts so once a job is started...
To be fair I might have been able to get one in the village but no guarantee, but it would have still had to wait till Monday and by contrast it was all finished last night. Its only 6km to the village and back but the car records 50km of fuel usage due to a very steep hill! Come to think of it according to the car's computer there's only 40km-worth left and no petrol station there so a return trip the village was a no-no anyway.

I have to say I am not trying to be deliberately evasive but it really does depend. I couldn't think of anything better in the face of not wanting to commit to a place that I am not always in, didn't want to keep changing it and in the face of the world we live in today didn't want a profile permanently showing in too much detail where the Land Rover might be when I am not always there.You speaketh in kilometres and you state your residence as "depends..."

Currently we are inland east of Malaga in Spain hence the 46 degrees comment the other day. (if it was down to me I wouldn't come here in the summer). Life is complicated though and I sympathised with @marjon 's comment about pensions and tax returns but declined to get involved after the thread in general went political, no-ones fault. Being technically self employed with a couple of yet-to-take old occupational pensions, a personal pension and a far-off state pension for which I need to top up my contributions, I also have to do three tax returns each year (or six if you consider they are individual).
On a serious note if anyone does need to top up their NI contributions for the state pension there is a deadline looming, April 2025 I think. It was July 2024 but it was extended.

Nice. I assume that's 90 or 110mm pipe. I have got lots and lots of photos like that, I could really bore people...
It's worth getting it central though, apart from any practical considerations I would probably for ever look at it being off-centre and regret not sorting it out.

I'll be picking grapes at the end of the month, almonds at the end of Sep and oranges at Christmas.
I wasn't complaining just pointing out, We are too young to claim
and you lot benefit from our tax payments.Now that really is a thing to think about if you have your own pension already, is it worth the extra £1 when you could invest the money elsewhere? and that income could continue after you have been BBQed. Not getting political, cos to be honest We don't care (although we do) in our position.
If you continue to work (or support yourself) deferring your state pension can make a diff too.
But as far as I am concerned after the last gov comments about the state pension being a benefit then more people will just spend their money as they will get it in other benefits at the end of the day so why should they try and support themselves?
Anyway sorry political rant over, or was it?
