Morning all.
Damp and drizzly today.
Yesterday we were both too tired to really celebrate our Silver wedding, apart form drinking a bottle of champagne, working too much on the land knowing the weather would change.
Shopping day today then tomoz off to our favourite restaurant for a proper celebration.
Have a lovely day folks!

It was my fathers funeral yesterday. We had a celebration of his life. He was a deeply religious man and there was a very good turn out from family and the church to send him on his way.

Sorry for your loss, my wee gran was very religious & I couldnt believe the turn out people were standing outside the
chapel as it was jam packed, the car park & the streets into the place was blocked up on both sides.

Glad it was a nice send off. R.IP. MOLs Dad.

I wasn't sure if a "lick" was appropriate.
But its a celebration of his live and sounds like a good turn out which shows the many that remembered him as a good person, so he wont be forgotten.

Lifted off a big winch off the ship the crane lift limit said 1.7T, the winch didnt look too heavy but the manitou can 4t but it
wouldnt lift it. wound the wire most of the way up & used the booms to lift it up & it snapped the wire :eek:
Fell about 5ft lol then decided to use shackles on to the boom to lift it & it worked a treat. Now I need to get it into
a scrap skip oh what fun 🤣🤣

Just had to pay for my car tax.
Hmm! Rather a lot!
when you think the frogs pay NOWT!!
Our Dutch friends have reregistered their van as a camper to cut the tax in half, but they are still paying a ridiculous amount for it.
There are usually people worse off than yourself.
As a van it would be just under €2k per year!
OUCH!
And they generally spend less than a month there all told!
They count the WEIGHT of the vehicel as well as anything else!

Yes a like is very appropriate, thanks. He was 93 and had a good life. We will all remember him as a great engineer who could fix any vehicle or mechanical issue he came across 👍

... I cancelled the Auto-renew on the wife's Mini Cooper All4 with LV because they wanted £429 for next year (a 42% jump).
She went online to SAGA and got the same cover for £316.
I will wait and see what my renewal quote is in July. If they try it on with me too, I will be offski to another provider too.
