Had to talk this chap out of jumping in the Witham. Clearly concerned by the rising water levels I had to use full mind power. He was there again today, so my work is done ;)

Job jobbed here. Dottir went to scroofix while I took the faulty tap out, she returned with a new tap and I fitted it. The faulty one will be going back to wix for a refund. All done by lunchtime

So your horse had two jockeys!😲😲
No fair! Stewards enquiry!!!!;);)
Anyway, I come in second cos I went out this pm and found a cartridge that fits nearly the same as totheren. Has been fitted and tested.:banana::banana:
Just waiting (getting outside a beer and a mince pie!) for my torch batt to charge up and I'll fit it properly. ;);)
When will you be fitting the shower hose etc?;);)

I did live in Oban for about 11 years, its great in the summer when the weather is good but quite frankly there is **** all to do in the winter when the weather is pish which is pretty much for 6 months, unless you are an alkie in which case you would fit right in with the locals. (who are all from Yorkshire and Lancashire so all moaning gits)
So I'd fit in cos I'm an alkie, or a Yorkshireman???? Ha Ha Ha!!!
Or both!!!!!
Shame they were miserable, maybe that was down to the weather!!!
And refighting the wars of the roses night after night can't be much fun!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As standard the tap comes with a hose and a crappy clip thing to hold the shower head in a single fixed position. Gonna have to get a slidy up and down one at the weekend, along with a curtain rail etc.
Quite agree!
And you can get a proper glass/perspex shower screen instead of the "Psycho" curting!!

This happens in France, and is seen as totally normal, so people have pressure reducers fitted. That also, I am told makes your (Brit) white goods last longer!:):)
Has no plumber ever suggested you doing this? The cost of doing it once you would recoup through fewer visits to change or mend your cold water taps! ;)
A long story but basically it is 'over to the water company' as it is their main that is at fault.

I had a burst on their main inside my property boundary which cost them quite a lot to repair all my garden damage! It is also possible that my bungalow foundations will have been affected but that won't be fully revealed until the land has dried out next year. An inspector came and marked the repair place ON MY PROPERTY. I was not happy about this as it was bound to go again and when the men came to fit the pressure reducing valve they declared that it was a waste of time them doing it 'cos the valve should be going on the main mains ( which is on farm field outside my boundary) in order to stop the bursts in my garden! They reported their findings and I have heard no more. I was advised to put a claim in for ............................................. .

I have had a pressure reducing valve put on my oil boiler 'cos a lot of damage manifested itself there - I had to buy a new boiler!
I could go on and on and on ........ but you get the idea of the problem.

I'm very sorry to hear this.
I have a vague memory of your having mentioned some of this before. But at the end of the day if you have a pressure reducer fitted near your mains stop cock as it comes into your house that should save your taps, boiler, washing machine and dishwasher.
If the pipe blows again between the point of entry and your pressure reducer, this should still be their fault.

I do hope that a combination of insurance and claiming back from the water company/ small claims track helped you recoup the costs/damages. Maybe your insurance company legal people are already dealing with it.
all the best with getting redress.
