Can imagine
Van sorted tonight after work, new power steering pump 160 squidsFound the loud banging noise too...
the fan belt was starting to come apart & one strand (I will call it) 60mm long & 3mm thick whacking on things
on the way round. Funny as it wasnt making a noise all the time & very hard to find in the pitch black.
Once I had light it was spotted instantly. I had a new belt in the driver side door pocket.
Sounds like a lucky escape from a severe inconvenience ...
I am pleased to report that THE SUN IS SHINING HERE!

Good piece of kit but too big, heavy and powerful for my needs, mine sits in it's little pouch on the top of all my other tools in the rear side locker.
They appear to be a bit hit and miss, mine seems to be a good one. It only ever cut out on me once and that was when I really did ask it to do too much work. It has an overheat cut-out switch which did its job. Once cool enough off it went again.I bought one of those and sent it back. It failed miserably.
I 'd recommend one to anyone. But as I say, even within the brand there are good uns and bad uns.
That is if I have remembered the trade name correctly, I may not have!
