Especially if you were doing truck and tractor tyres - those things are heavy. With so many things, the temptation is just to heave it, rather than follow the good practice guidelines and treat as two person lift, or get the hoist out. When I bought the bits for my digger, the man at the plant merchants said 'how are you going to get it out?' as he fork lifted the heavier object into the back of the Land Rover. 'I'll use an engine crane' I said, but in the event I just hoiked the 200Kg item out by hand. I used the engine crane to lift it onto the back of the digger of course, but there's a lot of heavy lifting involved if you look after machinery.

Whilst I do agree that space does seem to be being used as a dumping ground but for those of us who do not have the availability of almost all the communication methods that the majority of people take for granted this use of space can be an absolute lifeline for being able to live in the modern world.
It's very difficult to live in rural areas without decent internet. More so over the last few years. The nearest large village to me has all kinds of buildings that tell of a former age of face to face services. Banks turned into private houses, ditto police stations. Buildings with big front windows that obviously used to be shops. All gone. There's a hamlet near me that has a solitary rusting petrol pump which is all that remains of what used to be a garage (it's a 'smithy' on the Victorian maps). If I was the sort of person who consulted health professionals it would be even worse - long gone are the days when you could go and wake up the village doctor if treatment was needed out of hours. So it's hard to imagine life without the internet these days.

this is the most ridiculous thread in the wrong place - but I read it every day

and speaking of days

this chop is the winner of every award i can think of

Sometimes it takes too long to get lifting gear set up so as you say just hoike it oot. Yer I done heavy truck n plant
used to have competitions stacking truck tyres think iirc I could stack 6 super singles & 12 x 295/80/22.5 & they
were on my finger tips at full stetch no wonder my back gets sore. Used to use a rope n pully to lift them up to the
store  Wouldnt do that now.

Western Scotland all day long
🤨 what all that fresh blown air from the Atlantic or up from the Irish sea😱. Galavanting naked Landrovers playing on virgin land in white gowns around the islands.🤔
Nope not for me,🤬 give me Manchester a changing daily city in Africans or Hindu Kush polish and English as third language. Or waiting for busses in the ****ing rain watching out silent but deadly EVs whizzing pass. Or turning purple grasping at my blood shot eyes as global inferno takes hold🙄
