Another day at the dottirs new house, skip that was delivered yesterday is now full of assorted crap. Planned the updating of the heating system to change from back boiler, tanks, pump etc to a modern combi system. Gas man called in this afternoon, quote got, deal done. So tomorrow I crack on with the preparation work for pipe routes, power supply n miscellaneous things. Got home tonight and 'er indoors informed me that the washing machine has stopped working, water won't pump out. So took a look at the filter (a stinky job which results in a wet floor and comes second only to unbunging a blocked cludgie). And found a doggy poo bag wrapped around the pump impeller. (an unused one before you ask). All back up and running now. Bath and, mug of tea in hand.
Busy day.
I wish I had your energy!!

In the washing machine it is usually her tissues, but they seem to just gather around the door of the machine.

And yes emptying the filter down that stupid little tube so near to the floor, total pain. I put a load a noospaper down then a metal oven tray, a thin one, then get on with it. But still takes for ever and isn't fun at all. Well done for finding the culprit!!;)

Mornin all.
Having had a long tweetment with the Chiro yessdi my back is more flexible but very sore, so we is skipping the hsopping today.
Got to be up super early tomoz to take a doggy to the vet for "detartration", she was examined yessdi, price agreed and time fixed. Then we went straight home I gave them their dins, nothing abnormal, and while I was preparing our dins w noticed that said doggy was bleeding inside her mouth.

?????????

The vet had only very gently looked inside her mush she didn't even push any teeth to see if they were loose.

so a bit worrying but it stopped eventually. We have no idea how it happened and obvs will tell the vert about it before she starts scraping!

A house eggszacly like ours, (there are only 4 on our estate in the UK) has just come on the market. And the silly beggars have mucked it around so they have basically lost a bedroom. Couldn't believe the price!!    Nearly half as much again as we thought ours was prolly worth.

AND we have a much bigger garding. Be inneresting to see what it eventually goes for in todays market.

Rained during the night and when I fust got up to let the pooches out. Sunny intervals now. Not hot, yet.

Have a good one folks!!:):):):)

Just tried to get W to tell me what her first car was.
She originally thought it was an "Austin something". after showing her pics of Austin 1100s, A40 Farinas, A35s, she now doesn't have any more of a clue.
She no longer thinks it was an Austin altho she has just confiremd it was prolly new in 1971, so not that flipping old then.

After ages of trying to work it out, she has finally agreed it was an Austin 1100.
(only the first thing I suggested)

Luckily I didn't try to grind it off or anything, at least not for long.
It was in my house in Poole where the previous owner had a thing about feature walls. The gloss paint prevented most other methods of removal and as I was trying not to damage the plaster I had to use those scrapers with an edge like a saw blade. I have googled it to try and find one but can't. Basically it looks like a 5" wide ornery paint scraper, but the edge of the blade has points like a saw blade about 6mm wide and 6mm high. I don't think you can get them any more, better ones are now available! Anyway, I wore two of them down so the points weren't there any more. The wall was only normal, Edwardian room size so about 12 foot wide by ... higher than 2m80. Obvs the chimney breast didn't help. So I chipped it all off mm by mm. I of course tried stripping the paint off, scoring the paint, getting water into it, etc, but nothing seemed to work very well. The room was a right mess by the time I had finished. I think it was the worst DIY job I have ever done. Took weeks. And I gave up on it so often as it was so depressing.
If I had to do it again I'd bash the plaster off the walls together with the artex and paint and get a spread in to redo them.
People said "Why don't you plaster over it?" I doubted the plaster would stick well to the gloss paint.
Perhaps I should have burned it off!
Stuff that id just put new plasterboard over the top of the lot of it. :)

Cool, this one had the long gearstick starter was on the centre dash & I didnt look at the windows.
My first car was a mini fab wee motor got into some trouble with that 🤣
According to the Mini forum the floor start was deleted in 1964 but the long gearstick stayed in place until '74. But the pressing in the floor to take the floor starter button continued on for ages. Both my Minis were '63 so only just had the floor starter. My mum's first one was so old it wasn't even called a Mini, its badge read Austin seven I think. So pre '62. It had chrome window slider/locks, which I much preferred to the later black and white plassy ones.
