Yep, they have been doing it like that since the 30's :)
On an antiques roadshow that we watched recently, although it may have been an old one as it was buried in our Humax box, they showed one of the radios SOE issued to their operatives in the resistances all over Europe.
God they were heavy, big bits of kit.
The peeps who travelled around Frogland etc with them on bike racks, or in ther hands going through stations, passing through German checkpoints must have had balls of brass.
Although it has to be said most of them was wimmins!
Can't see many of recent generations having that amount of courage!;)

I was watching an interview with Odette who was an SOE. She was something to be in awe of.
