Spot on.

Bit non-plussed now as I've Goggled the Bonzo Dog doo-dah band, read the Wiki thing about them, especially the trumpeters.
Said blokey was a brill trumpet player and told me how he owned the dogs and how when the band were startting they needed a trumpet player so he got one and taught himself to play very quickly.
Didn't recognised any of the names as being his. all very weird.
I'll have to find stuff about the big band to see if I can find his name there.

I thought it was started by Neil Innes. Very Pythonesque I feel. It did go on to include more modern comics like Stephen Fry I believe?

Stephen Fry only appeared once i think as did a few other famous people.
What I didn't know as I never followed them, was that they made an album with very obscure stuff on it called "Keynsham", a boring ville where I lived for a few years and my Dad lived, and died there, after 1973.
I do remember "My pink half of the drainpipe"!:):)
