.... that the back-cracker was solicitous when I explained how crap the last 2 weeks have been and he suggested if I have any adverse / -ve reactions to an adjustment to call and make an appointment for another look rather than suffering for 2 weeks. He did an adjustment and then spent some little while (5 mins) giving the overly tense muscles in my neck a good hammering with a percussive massage unit until they went all soft and relaxed. :)
Came home & went shopping with herself and filled the Rangie with Morrisons Finest E10 wonder-fool. :)
I was so impressed withthe massage thingy that I have bought myself one online (arrives tomorrow). :D

(You're finding your secret teacher pants!!:):):))
After a bit of googling I discovered why high "rf" can be dangerous!
On the hifi tower we bought at auction, the radio doesn't work, or at least it seems to, but no sound comes out. The amp works as it can play both LPs and CDs so I suppose it could be a connection between the tuner and amp but it could also be a problem within the tuner, even though all the lights are on. It has two sorts of aerial/antenna.
I'll have to dig deeper. (TBH we aren't that bovvad cos we don't listen to radio in France, but me being me I like to have stuff working.) I'd like to be able to generate a signal to see if the antenna is picking it up or not. It searches automatically for signals but doesn't stop anywhere so I suspect that this is the problem.
Because you have sound coming out of the speakers, as you say, the amp works. The function generator would work to inject a sine wave down the antenna to see where it goes. First though I would use the scope to check where the signals are going as an antenna is passive so it will pick up anything in the air.
