hmmmm standards..........ok

what can be more aesthetically pleasing than a thoroughbred Land Rover?

bleddy nouveau riche

I think of my Defender more as a cob, thoroughbreds are for those with more money than sense. I wish neighbours were nouveau riche, they might move somewhere else :D:D:D

Tbf I've been laning with Freelanders along. Quietly impressed with what they are capable of though ground clearance lets them down a bit.

But then there's things an 88 or 90 can do that my 109 never will but I can wade with less worry than a Td5.

They're all made by LR and are all, in their own special way......

A bit **** :p

Well said. Vehicles should be praised for what they can do, as opposed to what they can't. ;)

OK, I have just been thinking of what a Freelander could be, not a thoroughbred, certainly not a cob. A Shetland perhaps :p:p:eek::eek:

Gone mad in ere tonight int it. Un there was me thinking it was quiet. All me Freelandering mates have dropped by for a chat. :)

Oh and this thread has a long way to go yet :p:p

The "Why would anyone want to own a cob" thread on there has been running for years and has thousands of posts.

Shall we start a "Why would anyone want to own a Freelander" one :D

Definition :D

The Cob is a type rather than a breed. A short legged animal, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 155cms, it has bone and substance with quality and is capable of carrying a substantial weight.

Cobs should have sensible heads, (sometimes roman nosed), a full generous eye, shapely neck crested at the top, with a hogged mane and well defined wither.

The Cob should also have clean, strong hocks and all the attributes of a good hunter: low movement and a comfortable ride.

This is a the only pic I have on here. My old cob, 37 now and sagging in the middle, but you get the idea
