Aaaanyway..
How you doin @My Old Landy?
Nice to hear from @DevonGuy
I fink @kevstar was locked up ferra bit.. That knob who stiffed him had it coming.

Busy day, serviced a pushbike for herself's new Ukrainianian friend.
An have been chaining an old apple tree from the house across the road. Lotsa (relatively) free wood.
The energy buggers can kma.

Buggered now of course. Home made Jalfreizi :D

I am pretty much the same, not a lot of progress sadly. Still onwards and upwards :)

Me diggin was good. Inch or two ov sand and about 3 or 4 inch ov ard corr. Difficult to estimate as the sand is pushed into the ard corr and the ard corr is pushed into worr evva's under neef. Ard corr was ard to dig oot wiv me patio weed puller which is good. Serms interlocked so that has bin whacked doon. That gottid me finking. The gate man sed there aint much below the bricks. But yer dunt need much acording to worreye see on youtoob. So eye is now finking all eye need is to lift un re-sand the low bits. Then put some polymorfic sand int joints to set ard. Eye as done a test patch ov levelling. Only had 3/4 bag ov builder sand left over from previous cassul owner. Did a small area in front ov me garage doir where one ov the wheel tram lines is. Will see how that goes after ma ippo has driven over it many times.

Eye will make meself some sand levellin tools. T shape wood wiv the stick bit the same depth as me bricks. That way eye can level the sand wivoot putting the brick down. Also gerra tramper to whack the sand a bit. Eye fink compressing it a bit will help.

Damp with a misty drizzle but not cold. It is forecast to clear up very soon so I wait with baited breath ................... .
My old fish has really been rejuvenated and is now swimming around seemimgly enjoying his 'new' abode.
Have fun 'cos it's a real Sunday.
@DanClarke We never did get an invite to the great bbq, not even a report on its success ....... or otherwise. ;):)

Ahhhh sorry.
The BBQ went OK thanks. The beef was cooked for about 7 and a half hours. Then rested "wrapped up" for an hour.
The BBQ firebox cracked (under warranty) the meat was delicious and the "crust" was very tasty.
We all ate large slabs of it and I cut the remainder into 2 and shared it out to be cut for sandwiches.

Morning all :D
Another fine day here, a bit cloudier and a chance of some drizzle. :)
@My Old Landy I hope you improve/repair at the best possible speed. :)
My right knee seems to be getting worse, but I doubt the NHS will be at all interested, seeing a real Drs. Appointments are now as rare as hen's teeth.
I may (reluctantly) have to go private to get it looked at. :(
We shall see.
Have a great Sunday :D

That looks very edible! Have you ever tried this type of clay potato baker? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275250620088?hash=item40163726b8:g:3dkAAOSwLEhiScEY

This is a proper vintage one and I can highly recommend this type for the flavour that it imparts to the spuds - we used to call them 'burnt' potatoes - heavenly. :)
I've got two - a German one which I have had for nearly 40 years and used it all the time. It is full of cracks and I'm sure the bottom will fall out soon but this does not detract from its use. I use it on the hob rather than fill up the barbie space AND it is NEVER washed - a bit like an old brown teapot really, it needs to build up its 'burns' in order to add to the flavour. The French one was a gift and I have never used it.
A proper one is quite expensive - and that's assuming you can get one. They used to be seen at car boot sales and were frequently unused 'cos us Brits had no idea how to use them!!!

I ended up doing that with me slabs. Does help a bit specially if you can attach a "bubble" to the top. ;)

Dunno if this is the same thing.
We have what we called a clay brick thing. It is only glazed on the inside of the bottom half.
You soak both the base and the lid in water for ten minutes then shove your meat and veg in it and put it into a COLD oven.
You then set it at whatever temperature for whatever time and it cooks everything in its own juices. Totally delish.
And like yours, you cannot wash it up in washing up liquid so you just soak it in plain water and wipe it clean.

My ex and I got one as a wedding present and we have since bought another for about €10 at the French equivalent of a boot sale.
I know it's nowt to do with barbies, but still fun if you like cooking. AND it is very healthy!
