Busy in ere tonight. Where to start...

that proves how very little knowledge you have of proper landrovers,us that have proper landrovers don't need to do a search on tinternet we have the knowledge to hand..

now carry on polishing yr paint work and pop bk to the Freelander section this section is way above your mechanical knowledge.:p
Dtd5 corrected me mistake so there's no need to make out your superior in some way and spotted it first. He's much betterer tratterer than you and sorted the problem without fuss. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/2594259-post10.html

I'm surprised you didn't explain the difference between the 2 options, with all that knowledge you quote you have...

I mean a diff has a hole in it ffs pmsl...they really are clueless these Freelanderers:D
Our Freelander rear diff's have holes in them. The hole has a breather pipe fitted to it to stop the diff case pressurising as the oil inside gets hot, and therefore expands a little. The air inside also expands as it all heats up but at a faster rate. Having a hole means the pressure (air) can escape from the diff, and return when it all cools (pressure drops). Raising the breather pipe on a diff on a Freelander is done to stop water getting in the pipe if you intend to travel through water deeper than the wash, above the standard breather pipe. Simple solution is to raise the pipe higher with an extension pipe. The OP has a tratter with a rear diff. I wrongly assumed his/her diff had the same set-up as ours. Of course, you knew diffs had holes in didn't you. Easy mistake.

only cos u Freelanderers keep topping it up with stoopid comments;)
We don't want you on this fred. We never asked you to join in and we don't need you to continue coming back.

Wilma, we'll never know if you truly knew the content of me post was right or wrong as your post was 11 hours after someone else posted. You would have read that post before creating your post. You int that clever about diff's as you din't' know of the Freelander set-up, which many vehicles use. You did have the chance to add helpful advice from yer own knowledge to the fred, but you chose not too. There may be an obvious reason for this. You only posted on that fred to have a pop at me, and point out what had already been pointed out, but you chose to make it personal. Now yer could have given the OP all sorts of advice on wading, but yer chose not to. Yer could have added yer own pic's of yer own set-up, but yer chose not too. As said the only reason you posted was to have a pop at me. Now I int going to continue this ere bickering you seem to want to continue. Nor will I reply to another of yer posts related to said subject. Yer trying to make something out of nothing, which is pointless. Yer spoiling me fred. This ere fred is for Freelanders and their owners. It's for those who own Freelanders who want to post in the tratter section. This ere fred has full diplomatic immunity and is owned by those who own Freelanders. If yer keep being silly making a mess of me fred then I'll have to start a new one. Now shurrup.

and your point is?

why would I offer advise about a gaylander diff which I have no knowledge of?i unlike some people don't offer advise if I clearly have no knowledge of it..
