I haven't got any hot water, that fuse has gone again.
Call your son, he was supposed to change both the plug and the socket because they were showing signs of Hight-Resistance charring/burning.
Oh, was he?
Yes, I told him it needed doing over a month ago.
Oh.
So, we went shopping (hers & ours) and on the way home we dropped her stuff off and I had a look.
Plug and socket not changed (as suspected) and the heat on the live pin of the plug has melted all the safety insulation off the pin.
I checked the fuse (not blown, surprisingly), then metered the wiring up to the immersion element and its "Open Circuit" so the element has now failed.
Told the old girl all this and to get her lazy-arsed son to get it all repaired/changed. Daft thing is that me and her other son in law put in a new main element on the economy 7 circuit but she wouldn't use it.
Now she's stuffed. I'm adamant its her son's duty to look out for his mum.
