......that his Numptiness here has fixed his steeering. Wheel dead straight and it all went as planned.
My famous two hammer technique took the ball joint apart with no risk to the boot;), the three turns which I took it out and then returned this morning did it with no need for further tweeks, so I must have measured it up right first time, for once.:D
Then I had a stroke of genius.
It came with Nylocs as usual and we all know you shouldn't reuse them so, rather than feck about trying to find a lock washer that big in my ever shrinking collection of washers, I simply took the old Nyloc and used it as a lock nut! Also, it covers the thread so less chance of rust getting to it.:):)
Now why have I never thought of doing this before?
Wondering if the rain will hold off long enough for me to be able to refelt the shed. Tis tiny but still, when will it actooly rain?
Fink I'll have a gander at the weather focast! It is suddenly getting dark.;)
Have a nice rest of the day folks!

I have worked with "big" Nylocs;) and have always worked with "3" times being the number, If you cannot screw it on by hand its still working:). Although smaller 1s may not last 3.

I am sure you are right, they are big, 19mm spanner to do em up, but it one gives way I could loose steering which would not be clever, so I'll stick with what a I did. But I'll bear in mind what you said about ones on less vital parts.
And I am sure in the past, when I was less fussy, I have used loads more than a couple of times. ;)
But thanks for the tip.:)

I just don't want to risk the boot on me noo ball joint!
Wifey totally couldn't give a feck. As far as she 's concerned meckanicking just "happens".
Can't see popping a ball joint, spinning it round 3 times then putting it back being such a laugh. (Ye must be short of larfs norf of the boarder!!!):D:D:D

I mean film you removing the air bag with the battery connected not film the duffing ball joint o_O:D

Still can't believe you is getting rid of a Mini thta was so stupidly cheap and is a Cooper S to boot.

Or actooly feck a lot more than duble!!:D:D:D
Don't use the vacuum cleaner to soooook it out!
Or you could and get the wife to film it!

Been a busy week..stripped the other side of the roof to find a few rotten places I didnt take any pics
but on of the roof trusses came down into the middle of a window which has rotten wooden lintel.
I went to the yard & got my pal to chop a nice bit of steel of the scrap ship so we could put above
the window then new timber in front so you wont see it.
