Having gone off the idea of buying a trailer of some bloke on ebay with no guarantee etc, have trawled through the main makers.
Lots of similarities but some differences.
Basically want one that will take a 13 foot car and maybe a bit more.
Prices are between £2993 +VAT (Ifor-williams) and £4169 +VAT Brian James.
Woodford and Bateson fall between the two and I have yet to hear back from Hazlewood.
They'll all cost more than the value of the car sitting on it!
All good fun!
so if anyone has any experience of any of these types please let me know. i only really know Ifor-Williams as me ex-sil uses them all the time and they seem pretty bullet proof, so I was surprised they came in so cheap, mind you it is pretty basic!
Weather keeps p!ssing me off today.
Still have to rewire the trailer socket, each time I go out to do it it starts drizzling.:mad::mad:
Anyway, enjoy yer Satdi nights folks!:):):)

Can't you hire one ?

..that you could not make it up. :(
All that work I put in to revamping #2 son's house and then the garden and he announces today that the 3year marriage isn't working and they are divorcing.:oops:
This is the 2nd time he has been royally phucked over and taken to the cleaners. He is a lovely, gentle kindly man without a nasty bone in his body and he gets the $hitty end of the stick every time. :(:(
Moreover, I find that I am now £20k down on "family loans" that are never, ever going to get repaid.:mad:

Raffle the drum ... take yer 'loan' out let 'em split the rest ...

So we went to see this bloke.
Lead times are actually the crunch and blokey showed us a trailer not as expensive as the one which was top of our list. The only differences being that you have to manhandle the ramps off the trailer bed to put them where you want them, but then they are actually more flexible. The jockey wheel doesn't automatically cock itself up as it were but it is much faster then the fancy one. No rear legs although we could, retro fit them if we really want them. And he threw in a pair of tie down straps for much cheaper than list price.
So we're getting what we want, a Brian James 126-2213, for £4089 total, which isn't far off the price of the one I found on their website that seemed to be what we wanted, minus VAT. Only about £400 more than the cheapest one, the Ifor-Williams, with leaf springs :eek::eek:.
We won't get it before we go over but we WILL be able to pick it up when we come back for the wedding, so :):):):):)! The Pluriel is staying at home until then!
Se we are happy and celebrating. (Well any excuse!)
To make room for it I am now going to have to pull my finger out and make the other one saleable. They are rare as rocking horse poop and it will sell quickly. AJC simply don't make them any more.
Blokey was saying how some manufacturers on some trailers have a lead time of 2 years.:eek::eek:

but that’s not a multipurpose like you first wanted?
Why not get a tail ramp instead of car ramps?
Will it come with its own chassis numbers and paperwork?

Yes your trailer will sell quick.
