That takes me back a good few years! My dad had a building contractor business and, in those days, everything was hand made in his workshops and I well remember it being ankle deep in wood shavings when the men went home in the evening. We spent our time collecting all the 'pretty' shavings to use on ???????? ! But it was an idyllic childhood, sadly not to last as he died ( as a result of war injuries) when I was just 9 yrs old and the business closed down with everything sold off. :(
That's sad DD.:(. Glad it was good up to that point. :)

You keep teasing with the "new" lathe:) Bigger? better? or just "I need another":D.
And what you gonna do with the old 1?

It is about the same size but it has a screwcutting gearbox. Made in 1953 so around 10 years newer! I am keeping the old one and will have one set up as Imperial and the other as metric. I am getting something else but as I have not seen it yet, I will keep that under my hat :)
