Morning ish folks:).

It was raining when we got up, then some of them white bits started to appear in the rain:eek:. Dont worry I think its too wet to settle, Now its only white stuff and its having a dam good go at changing the colour of everything but hopefully it wont come to much as it dont seem cold enough to hang around:eek:.
Not worth a pic yet and not enough to make a snow person:D. So have made myself useful and lit the fire early:).

Morning All :D
It's so good to be home :)
Reflecting on the events and the recent death of an acquaintance under similar circumstances I am so very lucky to still be here. :)
So have a lovely day everyone :D
Must admit, looking at your injury which was similar to Wifey's last summer and looking at what you fell on, I think it could have been fatally serious. Still not funny at all, but at least you are reasonably OK and able to natter with us! Hope you lose the black eye soon!:):):):)

So.
Up earlyish.
The utility room is stalling at the moment as we had the floor tiled years ago. Up to the kickboard under the units as you do. Now the unit is smaller of course we have a bit of bare concrete floor. Space for 2 ten inch tiles. They'll be under stuff so it ain't too important, but can I find 10" or even 20" tiles on line?
Can I feck.
Folorn hope is that the tiler blokey left us a couple of spares and I put them somewhere safe. But I don't remember him doing so and I certainly haven't come across any. So I will be spending a fruitless and uncomfortable time searching in the loft and the garage roof soon.
Don't really want to put down layers of vinyl or wood or nuffin.:mad::mad:
Weather - high pressure gloom again.:(
Still got to go to the dump. Boring
Wifey off to sewing class/group.:)
Dreading having to cut into the 40mm worktop, but that is a bit of a way of yet.
Dreading doing the plumbering as well. But at least Wifey agreed yessdi that a "little man" would not have done the mods I did to squeeze stuff in that normally wouldn't fit. ;):)
Can still squeeze a bit more space by replumbing the washing machine into another unused tap thingy with an even closer-to-the-wall isolator jobby. Just hope it won't be hidden behind the unit.
I think I should go in for converting a van to a campervan, it'd be no harder!
Anyway, have a lovely day folks!!!:):):):)

Thanks, I know it could have been a lot worse, and I am thanking my lucky-stars it was not. A very lucky escape I feel.
Lesson learned Do not "drink & dive". :)

Mornin' all not so cold this one ...

Had a disturbed night, daughter phoned on her way home at 23:00, she's got a puncture, rear nearside ...

She has tried to jack it and change the wheel, done up wivs a rattle gun, she can't shift it ... it's her third strike on this vehicle, as she had her cat converter stolen, then the curtesy car mob stuffed her for a 'damaged' tyre at £250 :mad:

And she was sobbing, couldn't think as she was sooo cold ... talked her through 'how to phone the RAC' and know where you are on the unlit part of the A2 ...

They got to her at midnight and she was home by 01:00 ... poor baby she'll be up soon to play it all again ...
Poor thing!
Brave to try and fix it herself in the dark and cold.
I bought Wifey one of those extending tube-type breaker bar fings with a universal lug nut socket on the end. Back in the days when she might possibly have been able to change her own tyre, or, more likely, persuade a passer by to help. They could be an idea for a christmas present.
ae235

£10 from Screwfix. 17mm-19mm socket. Used it the other day on a neighbour's car. Better than trying to stand on the useless one in the toolkit!:):):):):):):):):)

Right.
I am feckin steaming!!!!!!
Got warning to pay our Halifax credit card statement.
???????
This is a card we only use when in France.
Got onto their site, found two payments, one to Norton of internet security fame, that i have been unable to prevent them taking.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
They refuse to stop my contract despite my many emails to them saying that that is not the way I "must" do it. No, I've got to ring them and hang on a line for hours.
However at least I am getting what I paid for with them.
But the other payment is worse, some incomprehensible tosh from Amazon.
Chatted to them, they said it is from Amazon .fr.
????????
So i dug deep through their website and eventually found that I have somehow been inveigled into paying for Amazon Prime over there. I on purpose NEVER pay prime or take out one of their time-limited free offers. But somehow the bastards have managed to fiddle it around so I have done just this. £49 FFS
Forced to pay it really, I'll use it for this year but then close the account. God don't they make enough money?
Hardly ever buy anything off them in Frogland anyway.
Totally incandescent.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I had to troll though amazon for the same reason, the misses had somehow been getting monthy
charges, it was bit of a faff to close the account but she likes a good fight so amazon got it big time
& she was refunded everything. It takes a lot of time and be nice to the staff when on the phone.
Another downside of using the tinternet for shopping.

Should get her a couple of the cans of puncture sealant, they will work as long as the tyre isnt trashed
only problem is that tyre company's wont fix the tyre once its got that stuff inside it, take the old tyre
away & wash it out then take it to a smaller outfit to get it plugged an keep as a spare. :)

Ugga dugga gun for chrimbo (she will be well pleased):D

I HATE that sealant stuff. Any cars which come into the family fleet have that stuff junked, and a full size spare plus jack and wheel nut wrench gets stowed in the boot. And I carry a set of plugs and tools in me tratter, for a couple of quid its saved me quite a lot compared to taking punctured tyres to the fitters.

Yes I hate that gear also but it might have helped the lass out, her being stuck on an unlit road
& that time of night frozen plus there are all sorts of weirdo's about, at least its easy to screw the
can on & in under 2 mins she could have been on her way. Can you imagine if broke or kurt turned
up to help :eek::D
