That I got!
That I got!
There is absolutely no doubt.
Lead is really heavy sh!t!!!!!!
I only know how heavy it is cos years ago I helped sed s-i-l shift a load of it.That was a 6 meter roll 450mm wide Not sure wot that is in old money ?? guessing around 18 inches,
2 lads struggled to bring it out, I took it off them & threw it in the van one lad said ffs mate wtf did
you have for breakfast haha
Son -in law once had to do a job replacing windows in a Grade 1 listed building. He had to do sashes but obvs, being duble glazed, they weighed a lot more than the originals. He came to ask me if i thought i could come up with a way of doing it sensibly. Me?!!
Anyway we did some sums involving square lead weights instead of cylindrical cast iron ones. So it worked and we were both very happy. He had to melt a lot of lead but that was no problem as he somehow had a supply. (He's a bit like a sassenach version of Kev!)

but the three shredded wheat certainly help!
Now we come to the interesting part.I have melted loads of wheel balance weights for lead stuff like diving weights
Now we come to the interesting part.
Did you get involved in getting the silver out that happens to be part of old lead? That was fascinating to me!!!
Doubt it in wheel weights. He was melting down really old stuff!
Nope but got great money for the weights at the time, plus it was free lead.
No idea, and I haven't watched it either. I just put it up for you to look at.Before I watch this I recall it looking like silver on the surface ??

But S-i-l was saying that either he got stuff worked on for nothing due to them keeping the silver, or he somehow got the silver out of it. I'll have to ask him next time I see him as I has forgottid!!
Thort so!Just skipped to the good bit haha it aint worth it, it would cost you more to melt it.
Eye went to normal schoolsWhite bread with the crusts cut off then into quarters, drunk with Earl Grey tea. din't you go to a posh school!!!!
Don't try and kid us. We know you left it under your landy overnightYes the lead is new it went a nice copper colour as it was left ootside it the rain, very rustic aint it lol
