Yes, I am stubborn like that!
and a very good afternoon to you sir
Ask my Mrs, she would prefer I left it to the professionals.... (I don't think Bodie or Doyle are available anyway! )What's stubborn about that, I do enjoy plastering a room, for the transformation

Brilliant, just as the ones preceding it@ All retirees.
How was your Saturday?
Me sir, no sirYou are bored again arent you?
Very similar to me Sundays@ All retirees.
How was your Saturday?
She has just finished the returned call, having spent most of the day looking through her paperwork.Every time HMRC wrote to me saying I owed them MORE I was able to show categorically that they failed at basic maths and in fact they owed me over £2k.
No apology, no "So sorry to have stressed you in this manner with a bullying demand", just a cheque for the overpaid tax. Bastids!

Sorry for her loss, and the Governments gain. She has just finished the returned call, having spent most of the day looking through her paperwork.
She gets pensions from 7 different companies, Last April, one of them changed the company they used to process the pension payments, they then applied the wrong tax code (not their fault) so Wifey got £10 a month more than she should have.
At the same time, the tax office decided to swap part of her allowance to a different pension. As this happened at the same time as all tax codes changed she didn't notice that the small amount extra was not what she was entitled to. As with many, this is when pension increases come in.
So the tax office failed to send the notification of coding. And of course Wifey never got a change of coding. They missed the pension off the list, so Wifey got in touch and reminded them of it. Which is when they "forgot" to cancel the allowance and let it revert to BR.
Tax ain't difficult. why do they have so many numpties working there?
What a load of bollox.
So now she hs to pay it back at £10 per month. could have been worse

Spent most of mine either giving moral support to Wifey in her battle with HMIR or trying to figure out my new TRV.Made it through 75% of it, so far so good.

As often seems to happen, the mistake doesn't end up with you being better off!Sorry for her loss, and the Governments gain.

First, with the rad removed, I had to work out which pipe was the inlet.
Firstly i just ensured the heating was on, then allowed an amount to come out of each in turn, hoping one would run hot before the other.
It didn't work, so then I connected an old washing machine hose between both of them and turned it on full bore.
Nothing happened!
Figured I had an airlock.
So went back to plan A, and finally reckoned, it's the left one.
So then opened up the box, Kudox 436GR. Well that was illuminating, NOT.
Not clear at all how to put the Thermostatic part on top of the other bit.
When I put it on, there seemed to be no difference between fully closed and about "2". Huh!
So have come to the conclusion I'll just put the whole lot on and cross my fingers.
Think I have been overthinking this.
And as it is the coldest rad in the house, I'm hoping it won't make things worse.
So much for me trying to be a bit green!
Thanks for the offer of help. I can see how to put it together, that is no problem. What intrigues me is how when you blow through it to see when it turns itself off, that seems to happen well before it even reaches 0 on the "dial" on the top. I expect this is because it works on the temperature of the water which it isn't in contact with.Pics may help put it together

???
You must be good at it, to me plastering that amount is a real no- no.
and like banging my head against the wall, it is only nice when you stop!
Each to their own.
