Years and years ago, when I was a tiny kid, my dad used to read stories to us, when we were in bed.
I vividly remember a Noddy book, where Noddy and Big Ears were going to build a house.
Noddy asked "Why don't we put the roof up first, then we could stand under it and put the bricks up if it rains?"
Big Ears just laughed and said, "Don't be such a pr!ck noddy!" Or words to that effect.
Apparently Noddy is alive and well and building houses in Scotland!
