.....that I fixed our stoopid VAX yesterday. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Stripped it down - to the "sear spring retainer keeper" - although I didn't do it blindfold in flying gloves:rolleyes:, tested everything I could with a meter. Wifey was being a bit stroppy so I made her hold the probes to various things, got the motor running, cleaned it to within an inch of its life, and Lo and Behold, it now runs.
No flipping idea why it wasn't before.:mad::mad:
Anyway, it was a lot simpler than the Hoover, the PCB only had a condenser on it, which I didn't test, thinking about it:oops:.
At least the commutator didn't need cleaning!:)
Happy days till it breaks again!;)

How do you lot we had an easy shift..........
Got to the job made a fry up & sat in the garage for 40 mins till the rain eased :D:D
then cut 30 planks for the fence but the rain & wind was getting too much so back inside
the garage tidied up made a fire (outside) an burnt all the scrap timber/rubbish....
Went to costa for a hazel nut latte & fitted led lights to my mates defender. :)

As requested by SWMBO, I set to with 'gusto' and filled all of her holes this afternoon.
I have to report that one of the holes was a bit "loose" but another was nice and tight.
Is she happy? No. Apparently I should have spent twice as much time masking off and covering up the entire kitchen as doing the actual job and she has had to do a bit of cleaning.
Here's before.......

Nice one(s)!:):):):)
Now all you have to do is blend in the Artex, :(:(:(

Id give it a damm good try how much is plane fuel......
:D:D:D:D

Getting the licence might cost you a bit!
But yes, like you, i'd be up for both fixed wing and the old chopper,(No not that sort you pervs) with a bit of auto-gyro thrown in! Haven't flown much since my air cadet days but the old Tiger Moth was fun! you can buy replica Spitfires in Oz, not quite full scale, but mind you with 170 mill you buy the real thing, and the fuel for it.
Better know what you are doing before trying to fly one. The guy piloting the Tiger Moth I was lucky enough to be flying in was chatting to me about the recent crash that killed both the greenhorn and the instructor. (Few years ago now). Easy on the throttle on take off or you'll flip the flipping thing!

I had twenty nine of them to do! Filling the holes - as you have both done was the easy bit - trying to blend in the Artex was a nightmare, especially as the ceilings had all been coloured. Mind you, the real problem was in the lounge where another nine holes of the larger variety, had to be camouflaged! That ceiling has been clad with a 'thick' T&G over the plasterboard. It is wonderful for insulation ( an 80's fashion) but …… . What I ended up doing was cutting plywood circles, just a little larger than the original hole and then cutting out the appropriate sized hole in the middle of that before sticking them over the original big 'oles! True, the new lights are not flush with the ceiling but they do look acceptable. One of the penalties of buying a property from an electrician with his own building company - well built, but ……… . The one advantage is the number of electricity sockets in the property - I reckon he got a job lot and had to use them. And in the garden I have got floodlighting underneath some of the ornamental shrubs!!!!!! No, I don't use them.
