...that I did not know that the rear cover of my Samsung S8+ was a plastic shell covered in an ultra thin glass layer.
If I had known this before attempting to remove it fully (it was split away from the main frame of the phone due to the swollen battery inside the phone) I might have been a little gentler and maybe (just maybe) my cow's tit$ fingers would have been gentler in their approach. A million tiny shards of glass later the back was off the phone.
The fingerprint sensor, torch lens and camera lens cover-glass window were absolute ba$tards to prize off the now crumbling glass-paper/plastic of the rear cover.
The old battery out/new battery in was not too difficult (15 screws out/in and a few Anglo-Saxon words of encouragement).
Cow's-tit-fingers notwithstanding the SIM/SD card carrier somehow got broken and jammed in its slide-carrier and had to be coaxed out of the guts of the phone.
Once superglued back together it was re-inserted and thankfully was recognised by the phone. It works! Bluetooth earbuds all working, front video camera all working, wireless charging working.
Cost of new phone (if I could not repair this one) £349...... Dodged that one. :D
Cost of new battery £20. .... Mixed reviews, some say its great a few say they thought the battery was crap. :)
Cost of new rear cover (on its way) £20. .....no idea yet, most of the reviews are positive.
Thanks for this!
you have just cured me of any urge I may have had to take up wifey's advice to start using her old iPhone, and iPad.:):):)

Been pouring it down for the majority of today, horrible..

2c luckily the heater in both the Van and P38 work ;)

Just arrived home from an eventful trip, the roads are full of big puddles and fords you have to go through.. :)

Had some fun in the P38 right until an arse in a Merc CLS decided to overtake when I was slowing to go through a ford before I could beep or warn him, BOOOSH!

He hits this at around 50mph and nearly empties the bloody thing, his car of course cuts out, and I float by... :D:cool:

My Ribs ache though, I haven't laughed like I did then in a long time, actually had to pull over! :D

Ahh..
Do love this sort of story!:):):)

Went in to the office today, not because i needed to but because my manager summoned me. He now expects me to ignore gov guidance and return to full time office working. That's despite knowing full well my household is 'high risk'
Unless he has got a ffin good reason as is doing exactly the same thing to everyone I'd say you have a case for discrimination and/or bullying which we have to call "harassment".
Have you got a diary or some other record of all of his treatment of you?
I once took a Deputy Head to a grievance procedure for bullying. It didn't half shut her the feck up and she straightened up and flew right afterwards.
you may only have to do that to get him off your back even if you do not get anything tangible out of it.
But others will advise.
Best of luck.
