I think I mentioned it a few weeks ago but it's working nights at a supermarket. I did an interview about 4 weeks ago but they sent me a "No Thanks" letter because they needed someone to start asap but I still had a month to go on my notice.What you got? I think I mentioned it a few weeks ago but it's working nights at a supermarket. I did an interview about 4 weeks ago but they sent me a "No Thanks" letter because they needed someone to start asap but I still had a month to go on my notice.
Anyway, they contacted me yesterday to see if I was still interested and this afternoon I signed all the paperwork.
The hours are very unsociable at 8pm 'til 7am but the pay is good and I'll only need to work 4 out of 7 days. There will of course be the opportunity for much overtime over the Christmas period which would help the bank balance.
Cheeky!!Does this mean you have to catch the puffer to the mainland each evening? Or do you have supermarkets in your neck of the woods?

It's far from my ideal job but the supermarket does have it's own transport department so there's still a chance I can get in to driving.

I suppose it's because every sensible person is at home in bed or down the booza while I'd be working so no-one cares what my name is.

'tis blowy and damp outside.
Final day at the business continuity site today so I'll be back at the office from lunchtime.
However, I may have a new job so I might need to attend some sort of induction thingy for most of the afternoon.

It would appear that I have secured meself a full time job so unfortunately I won't be a man-of-lesiure over the Christmus period.
Not sure of the starting date yet but the HR lady is trying to arrange it so that I have a week off between leaving the current job and starting the new one.
