... now that it's winter and there's been rain, I've discovered that my reversing camera screen flickers and blanks out when I have my windscreen wipers on. If I turn my wipers off, the cameras and screen are crystal clear again. Strange that, don't ya think?

Not really. Probably back emf from the wiper motor affecting the screen.

Mackers, some bright spark will be able to tell you how to cure that with a diode or something across your connection to the switch. Or across somewhere

Always nice to know what you are reversing onto ;)

I wired mine from the head unit and it was fine. There are clip on magnets you can get to help cut out interface.

move the screen off the dash with the wipers on and see if the flicking stops as you get further away from the wipers.

You need to know if it’s the camera feed or the screen that is getting the interference.

What else does that screen get used for? Is it just for the reverse camera, or is it multimedia? Just out of interest!
Just reverse cameras. I'm too dim and easily distracted to have a screen on when driving. Go on, were you gonna say "just don't put the front wipers on when reversing"?

I wasn’t actually! (But yeah, that would help).
I was thinking about installing a camera, but was looking at the screens built into the rear view mirror, but if a larger device like you have fitted was able to perform other tasks (satnav, phone connectivity etc) I may be tempted by one of those.

Definitely are screens that do everything but they were 500+ at the time. I read too many bad reviews about the mirror ones but it was 12 months ago so they might be better now. Mostly though, the rear cameras were no good for me as it was all about reversing blind onto a highly pedestrianised pavement left and right from a drive with 10 ft high hedges either side to the boundary onto a main road. Cameras on side corners pointing east and west.
