Thought I'd tart up the old beast with a lick of hammerite on its rear bumper and its led to discovering the sills don't exist, holes in the arches and no rear mounts.

Challenge accepted!

While I arrange to borrow a welder and some lumps of metal and follow the super run throughs on here.

Boot is (99%) solid!

the screwdriver test only found this hole:

its good enough for me:

A long term ambition is to knock up some new bumpers but student finances = an old tin of hammerite found in the shed until next year :(

Hello Hamish, you do know the bumper rots from the inside out don't you?

Easy enough to whip the bumper off and Hammerite the inside as well - you know it makes sense.

Yea absolutely, been out and splashed on some new hammerite so will be painting anything that moves inside out (and properly!)

Been mocking up some rear chassis mounts and plucking up the courage to fire up the disk grinder and sort the sills out next week.
