Hi when i brought my p38 it had been converted to coil springs its missing its compressor (but i have one) and no air bags ... apart from that what else would i need to convert it back?? they have removed afew fuses and theres a link in a connector in the air box... any idear cant stand this spring ride feeling feels like me cars gunna tip over :(

the link is prolly to fool the car into thinking its at correct height. obviously get thebags and compressor. also check rave for correct fuses to put back in. do you know what the reason for the swap was, i would pressure test the rest of the system if possible before you buy bags.

hi gav hows your swap/rebuild gone?? yea not sure why it was changed was thinking of firing it all up ect see what happens lol electrics are my game mate :)

engine back in, ended up with a linered block that a fellow member located for me, runs like adream. just got to get it taxed, and a few other bits n bobs but its certainly a better outlook for the old girl!!!

i would imagine you can connect all the pump, take out the link(or mabe leave it in) and connect the bags, if it pumps and works, install the bags. if not then the car is still functional til you sort out where the prob is. i reckon you may have to recalibrate the system tho.

if your into electricery then i would appreciate your thought on how to connect two wires together electronically and only for a second or two each time the ignition is turned on. i was thinking of using a relay to put power to a glow plug relay(as you can tell i'm not very electric minded) its to switch on(resume from hibernate) my laptop based car pc that i will be installing in the p38 via the wake on lan feature. i know there are ways to build it and power it with an itx board and case but i dont want it like that(just to be arkward)

Hi Gavbriggs,

if you use a brodersen unic XM relay (available from RS components) you can feed it from an ignition live and set it so that when the ignition comes on it activates for a period of time set by you. Anything from 1 second to 1 hour.
