And we've all had various faults. How reliable has your Champagne Gold (I assume that is the gold yours is) RR been?

Oddly enough no it's not, it's Maya Gold for some reason. Perhaps it's an experimental one
I don't like to tempt fate but she has been MUCH more reliable than my NDB V8 Disco1. So far, she broken down once due to fuel pump failure. So I've had to replace a fuel pump about a year ago and some ball joints last week. I've also done as recommended a gearbox oil change.Inside, the only thing so far has been the CD changer giving up the ghost. Oh and I have an annoying squeak from the steering column which will be getting greased next week. Yes I know Dr Gloom and Doom wants it to be a precursor to failure :p
All of the above I think are reasonable for an 11yr old Range Rover. Especially as only one of the items mentioned was a break down. If I got paid for each time my Disco was off the road I'd be able to get a TDV8 :D So I am touching my wooden trim each time I get in and thanking the RR Gods.

Bling bling gold you mean !! Lol

s'not bling it's shiny things

addit: Just realise I had a brake line thingy replaced too last year.

Dammit, I wanted to mock, but I just googled it. I can see why you got it.

She has been good to you then. I wish mine has been just as good, but to be fair I'd expect any 14 year old vehicle to be spitting the dummy out, especially when getting on for 200k on the clock. Funnily enough the only real brake down on mine (required recovery home) was when the pulley failed few months back, daft thing is she was telling me something was wrong, I just didn't notice until it was too late. Lesson learnt.

She sure has which is why I whisper when I say what few issues I have had. My Disco was Was 10ish when I got her and 12 when I spat the dummy and said enough is enough. Even although she only had around 50k on the clock, she spent more time in the nice warm garage than she did on my drive or on the car park behind the wire. She cost me thousands and I mean thousands in that 2 and a bit years I had her. So the fact I even bought the brand again is a testament to the draw of the L322

Hello All,

I have had a few Land rover's, in fact quite a few.

But now Really want a L322, and I am going into this knowing they have issues, but hey that's part of Land rover ownership.

Can you tell me what are the big things to look out for ????

I have picked up on the gearbox issues, and I am guessing that if its not been done by 100k then its going to need one soon?

Is there anything else, or has somebody done a buying guide?

Any assistance will help me in hopefully buying a nice car, not a Monday morning special, or Friday afternoon dog.

Many Thanks in advance.

Sid

:):):)

Where did you get to with the Camel Disco ?

every car has it faults a lot of people on here only join because of a fault so not a true gauge of what the car is like, but from talking to peeps you either get a good one or a pig. So buying one you need to have a reserve to keep it on the road when new it's a 50 grand car (JUST AN EXAMPLE) 10 12 25 Years old it's parts will still be for a 50 grand car no matter what the actual price of car is. This is the same with any make or model of car ;)

P38 parts are (mostly!) cheap. :p :D

GR.......haven't seen you round the ol' spa for a while.....

Her Maj and her Armed Forces been keeping you busy all this time??

Awful isn't it Ant! It's not as they pay me to do it or anything. Oh, hang on a minute, yes they do ;) Never mind, feet up time on the horizon. Nice to see the place has been kept nice whilst I was away :D

No doubt busy signing up to the local bowls club and gathering little bits of string to put in her handbag.

I'll have you know it's the bridge club, I'm too old and knackered to bend down for bowls. Just remember two things Bix: I know where you live and you still have all this to come :hysterically_laughi

I guess I am lucky as I have my own unit, two post commercial lift, all the tools, and a very good snap on fault code reader.

My day job is selling MX5's (don't take the ****) they are very good cars.

So the fixing it is not an issue, and in terms of mileage my unit is only 1.5 miles from the house, so I don't do big miles either.

Maybe a petrol is the way to go.:cool:

If I had these facilities (and the Wonga for spares) at my disposal I would probably chance an L322 too...

...but I don't, so it's gonna be another P38 ...they look more 'deliberately vintage' anyway lol ;)

Haha. You would suit the bridge scene.
You know nothing of the sort and I don't think anyone in human history has ever been as old as you. :p

Hate to burst your bubble sweetie but SEME isn't a state secret and as you're part of my world now the other one wouldn't be hard to get , if necessary ;) I don't mind being old and knackered , means I can retire soon :D
