97.5 grand! thats more than robbing! why would they even bother coming out with a quote...!?

Its legalized theft.

Not saying its right but I can understand why people dont bother with insurance. cheaper to buy a ****ter and risk getting caught.

agreed fully.

did i hear that the European commission are stepping in now? think i heard on the radio..

Admittedly the top quote was 1600.. Still ridiculous and these websites claim to save you money! They can keep the fekin fluffy toy!

Worth actually phoning performance direct in my opinion. That quote suggests that there is something wrong in their system

My 300Tdi Auto Jap re import is insured through them, Full no claims protected on a 42 year old male living in a rural area with very little crime, garaged at night and the wife named to drive as well. £226 for the year.

The policy is underwritten by LV.

I paid £81 year before last - me and the wife named drivers, fully comp, included business usage.

I was well ****ed off when it went up to £120 last year!

I have tried the comparison site recently, here are a few observations:

1. Fully Comp is cheaper than TPF&T? (Seriously try it!)
2. Add older people as named drivers brings the price down (Friends, Family)
3. If your occupation could be considered to fit a few different titles, try them

I'm 30 but have 7 years no claims, best so far is £350 Fully Comp (or £400 3rd party!) - 1995 Disco 300TDI

Forget your price comparison for the more specialist car.
I pay the same as Admiral quoted for 3rd party but instead I get offroad driving and covered for competions. (AdrianFlux) 110 td5 with few upgrades, lights, protection & engine chip.

I disagree. Seriously. When I was looking last renewal I went to the "so called Landrover Specialist" insurers.

Adrian Flux tried to tell me that my Discovery had been built in Japan then imported to here, whereas I stated that it had been built here, exported to Japan the RE imported back to the UK!! They wouldn't have it and wanted £1600 plus to insure me!!

Sureterm also claimed that it was not a UK spec vehicle even though I have given them the conformity number etc and they wanted £1400.

So when you have a broker like Performance Direct giving me a quote at £226 you can imagine who I am going to go with!

All of the specialists in the LR magazines were stupid quotes.
