1971 (i think) only done 3000 miles and never had any welding and in very good condition its used as a emergencey vehicle on a gas teminal, i would take a pic but phones and electrical devices are banned

should think its worth a few £££'s?

not sure if its petrol or deisel, its still i use but sits in the garage almost all the time apart from when its checked over every couple of weeks and goes for a spin around site

You'll find if its been working in a gas terminal it will be diesel. I once done a job in an oil refinery complex and my boss wasn't allowed in cos her car was petrol. Something about the spark ignition on the petrol.

Aye and even a std doosel int allowed on a gas site. All the lights, horn switches etc etc have to be spark proofed.

I worked in a gas plant, lagging, all the pipework once, and all the tools were rubber coated except the tips & the screws were some special Alloy that wouldn't spark if struck with a screwdriver blade or a hammer.

Was well weird part of the plant also produced gasses for lightbulbs and everything was made of glass. Pipes, vessels, tanks the lot. It looked like a TV studio set for "land of the giants"

yes, spark ignition is not allowed. Even diesel motors should have a spark arrestor and chowlin valve fitted to the exhaust.

Do you have the Vin number? chucking into Calvin might throw up some info. Let me know and i will do a search for you.

spot on a standard diesel is allowed on site buts its as an unprotected vehicle and has limitations like it cant go under a bridge(dont no why)

it is a diesel and not got the vin

the plant is a funny place top on safty and security being the 4th most likly place for a terroist attack in the uk im told

Spark ignition is not the only source of trouble, other spark sources could be starter motor, horn, wiper motor, starter solenoid, unless all these are ex rated flameproof then it'll not be safe in a dangerous area.
If they are flameproof, its a special landy indeed.

Worked in refinerys with mobile cranes all electrics flameproofed spark arrestor must be fitted and all certificated or they wont let you in Even after entry they stop you running the engines if you are sitting there doing nothing FREEZING in winter (no heater) ICI billingham had a sii lwb fire engine in mint cond 6500mls on the clock a few years ago dont know if its still there cos ive been retired a while They sold 1 very cheaply in the early nineties a pal told me!
