for the project...

urgent now..v8 diesel or maybe yanky petrol (but will put on gas)

any ideas?

cant find a gmc 6.2 diesel anywhere at the right price:(

Cummins no good?

Oi doc. You know where the horticultural college is near Penrith? Keep on that road into village before the road drops down on right is a guy that breaks big stuff. He has cummins engines with gearboxes.

Newton rigg ?

Yarp kinda ish……….might pop up at some point and have a butchers but currently got the little RV8 block to dump in.

If I get bored of that I may see about getting another engine or building a custom toy starting with mounting the engine into the chassis with gearbox etc then build a fender body round it

Not allowed to bring engine projects to strip at uni but can bring other stuff to build :) this might be pushing the limit though!

Yeah Newton rigg. That's where my cottage was for holiday. He offered me a cummins with gearbox. May have been turbo'd as it had been in a bin lorry. Was sat on a pallet. He also breaks landys for cheap bits for farmers

may be worth a call then :) see if he has anything decent in stock!

Wouldn't mind a decent battery off a bin lorry if its 12v, would make starting the V8 easy work

Yeah he has all sorts. Was breaking a defender 200tdi with crash damage when I was there. Wouldn't split the manifold from the engine

You remember the name ?

If so will give him a call as it might be a decent way to get a battery and possibly a snorkel if he has one knocking about

Really cba making a snorkel :p

Got the bumper and sliders to finish (hopefully about 4 hours more in total, welding is fast then test fit and sort out slider pieces), your brackets to finish off, a lead shot dripper, a sump guard, winch tray and a small patch on my bulkhead left to do

Rather jam packet right now

The line of the pillar and where through into engine bay should be same as mine? I might have a go, would have thought there would be pipe bending and forming in that workshop.
