Can anyone help with coolant issue?? Had head gasket done last week (££ ouch)..... drove fine until yesterday.....car hadnt been used 4 24 hrs....went to go out yesterday to find coolant leaked over drive. Filled it up, did short journey, empty when i got home. Filled it ip again, turned on engine....all fine....no leak. Get up this morning + coolant all over drive again.....any ideas??

For starters inform whoever did the repairs and get it back to them. Welcome to the forum, which variant of the green oval have you got and which engine cos I left my crystal ball at home

Its a 1.8 petrol......garage cant do anything cos theyre 2 busy (+ of course im not!!!!! Woukd rather have a day off work 2 do fun things....not under flippin bonnet(

When you say coolant all over the drive do you mean literally cos my father in law had the engine in his Pajero rebuilt and the garage didn't tighten up one of the clips on the water hoses. I assume that the oil is still black and there's no water mixed in with it. I'd be inclined to run the engine with the bonnet open to see exactly where the coolant is coming from

While not blonde i am a daft old bird!! It is leaking thru hole in engine plate thing.....been out there now + its dripping. Thinking of taking this plate thing off but am nervous (hate being so bk×÷dy anxious all the time!!).

Have turned on engine.....drip goes to practically nothing. Turn off eng + drips more frequently again . Cant get plate thing off....its stuck.

As flat said take a photo, I have to upload mine to photobucket to post but I've been told there is other ways

Nothing negative about it, simply an educated guess at model and engine type, I wasn't wrong was I? It also keeps your thread at the top of the recent posts. thread
Given up + taken 2 garage....apparently new reservoir is faulty + not hokding pressure. Will wait + see.......thks all!

Fair play to you for being willing to have a go at fixing it :D No shame in taking it back to the garage cos that's what you paid them for in the first place
