I bet someone has rewired one of these to eliminate all that monkey business lol

one does not rewire a Range Rover !!

there is a BeCM under the seat (Body Electrical Control Module) that is the brain for the car, pretty much most things go through the BeCM. don't be effing about with it either. you cant. you'll only end up in a world of hurt if you do. you have been warned. there are also a number of different modules, for the HVAC, Gearbox, Engine management, EAS etc. the Range Rover isn't like an F150 in a pretty body with comfy seats.

it is tough to find out what the issue is without dedicated diagnostics. generic might help but it wont get you into the BeCM.

the saving grace you have is that it was running before you started with the audio

have you downloaded RAVE yet ???

The engine was running while he pulled the stereo out... I've asked after reading OP and confirmed by him... what does that suggest to you.. @ukadamwest

honestly, I don't know. the audio wiring shouldn't mess with engine running at all.

I note that the OP had no dash lights when he bought it, it seems to be on coils, different keys. the thing sounds like its been owned by fudgetards who have bodged it up or used clueless garages that have bodged it up. the OP also said he removed what sounds like an after market pre-warmer.

he's turning the y key and getting clicking so something is inhibiting it somewhere.. i'm interested to know if the key locks and opens remotely and if so, how does a different key start it ???

No crank yet , iam just really wondering about my keys, like don't i need to do the eka procedure, but my driver door lock key is different from my ignition key with fob on it ??? fob works for locks but not driver side, red alarm light shuts off and doors lock and unlock with key, and no engine disabled on gauges. So is alarm ready for engine start at this point or no ....

You were driving it and it was running until you started removing stereo system does that not tell you something?
