Well guys, Drewster told me about this old Series a couple of months ago when he learnt that his dad had left it to him in his will.
It could be turned into a very special plaything rather than being just another old Series Land Rover.
As far as I'm aware it's a 5.7 litre V8 and portal axles have been discussed as well.
With a tray back and a few inches cut out of the chassis it should make for a formidable off roader.

Hi,

The original S1 LWB was 107". Circa 1957ish, Rover added an extra 2" to the wheelbase (without telling anybodyu) so they could fit a diesel engine. The 86" became a 88", and the 107" became a 109". I think the LWB rear springs stayed under the chassis, same as the SWB ..... no spring outriggers.

BUT ...... I believe the LWB Estate ALWAYS remained at 107" which might suggest that the estate was never fitted with a diesel.

Do not destroy or mutilate that truck. Somebody will give you a lot of money for it.
