hi there. i need some advice. i have a disco2 td5. 2000 plate. 2 months ago i replaced my head gasket due to water system pressure, ever since then she has been running spot on! until! yesterday. my drive to work is 8 miles or so. so i drove to work as normal no problems at all, got back to the yard 10 hrs later and one of the lads comes running over to me. dave your landy is bleeding to death. so i go and have a look, and yes there is about 2litres off engine oil on the concrete pad. so i lifted the bonnet dipped the oil and there was tiny bit on the tip of dip stick? next i checked the water in the expansion tank. hey presto!! ive found my engine oil. ive never had to use the dip stick in the expansion before. i dont know where to start. any ideas would be brilliant.

brilliant thank you. ive found a repair kit on flea bay for £150. just need one more bit of advice. what would be the best way to flush the water system out? any advice?

yep i'd go with oil cooler. i had my head gasket and oil cooler done at the same time. a word of advice though, once its done, make sure you (or the garage if you're not doing it) flush it. then flush it again... and again... use crushed dishwasher tablets and run it for a day or so. then repeat. then flush again fully with clean water until it runs clear. fill it with water only and take it for a run, check for oil. if its clear, then fill with coolant.

thanks for the advice. i will doing it my self. i will let you know how it goes. thanks again. this is a brilliant site!
i should add, dont use washing up liquid or similar as an alternative to dishwasher tabs. or if you do, film it. should be a laugh....

Have a look under posts by @vilguy, he bought a vehicle cheap that had oil cooler trouble ... sorted it though ...
