Good rant, had a few like that myself about the ejoke. A thousand words say what could be said in six, 'evoque is NOT a Range Rover' ;)

Hear Hear!
I do think LR could shoot their self in the foot with the Evoke. Getting the public into the brand with a plastic version of the RR will bring in lots of sales & profit short-term but what will this do to get the public to upgrade to the true RR brand? If their first experience in RR driving is an Evoke they just wont appreciate what a true RR is to drive / own & more likely to move on to other brands.
I must admit the wife tried one out recently (not because of the badge but it ticked a few boxes for her needs) - reluctantly but curiously I went along to the test drive - thing was fecking awful to drive & a million miles from any RR i've driven - made this point to the sales guys when we got back 'the general public would disagree looking at our sales figures' was all i got back.
As you say, there is a very small minority that own RR's because of a total appreciation of the heritage. My colleague has a new (expensive) Sport Autobiography but he's not interested in the history, heritage has no idea who Charles Spencer King is & wouldn't give a hoot - just wants the best of the best brand to show off. Majority of L302 owners will be the same, but they are more likely to have aspired to such an expensive motor from previous RR ownership. Not so likely in future if the ejoke, disco sport is the way forward for LR.
Love the V8 soundtrack in the background btw :)

I seen the video of Victoria Beckham designer handbag holder and just curious would you feel LR are still trying to appeal to the female market.

They tried that with the Freelander 1 and it was crap. Then with the Freelander II and that was crap. I mean how much more crappy do they have to go to get women to buy their cars. Answer Ejoke. :D:D

Excellent vid. Also nice to put a face to the forum handle. We do live in the instant gratification age now so it's little wonder the Evoke is flying out the dealers doors. LR are not alone in this brand dilution exercise in the name of quick profits. Mercedes B class is their version of the Evoke. For those owners all they want is the star on the front. BMW build whatever they can sell, the X6 is a prime example.

There are a lot of thick and stupid, mediocre people in the world and they need cars too.

imo ejoke should be stripped of its knighthood, ie ; you dont buy a epiphone instead of a gibson if you want the real deal, basically as ant states just a cheap imposter.my sister in law had a evoke & it got knicked lol.imo someone done her a favour,it used to look stupid parked next to mine when visiting us.
