Errr, what?? You mean it's a damper? Is it serviceable in any way? Anything I need to grease or clean?

Mine just hangs around, does not do anything............like a sulky teenager............

No need to service it or do anything unless it falls off.

It is a bit worrying that Land Rover thought it necessary to include a tether.

Surely, the need of a tether suggests the fixings are inadequate or given to fail. Perhaps they had no budget for re-design..! I wonder if anybody knows the failure mode or window. Perhaps it's like a cam belt, change after 70k?

But I did just happen to notice that you might just have a nut and washer missing from the flexible coupler

Umm... the one to the left is missing completely. i'm hoping he was in the process of removing the prop....

As they said, harmonic damper .. I removed mine, it weighs a lot, and it made not one jot of difference, though I'd like to believe my 0-60 time went up by about 1/10th a second 'cos of the reduced weight ... .
