Well just like kids I've realised you can never really afford it !

I spent several years in the forces and loved the LR and have gone on and on and on ....... And finally the board of control has given the green light ! Besides being at forty a midlife crisis is due. So it's either a mistress or a LR ? I said a mistress would be the cheapest but the wife is old fashioned .


I would love some options as I recall back in the day the 90 wolf being a fantastic machine ( but in my time 2000 they were nearly new) and am seriously looking at a 90 or 110 although a good one seems a bit pricey. It's going to be my transport but I need to potentially put the kids in ( 7 -8 yrs old) so would possibly need to fit better seats. The main problem I see is security , although this can be overcome.

However would like some guidance, I have about £10 k tops (6 if the wife asks)

get yerself a 90 csw, you'll get a damn tidy one for yer 10k! Just look for rust, rust and rust!!!

Service history and evidence its been truely looked after are more important than milage/how much mot etc its got on it in my opinion!

Keep a couple of grand in the bank because your bound to want to do stuff too it and its good to have a bit of dosh for when (not if) it goes wrong :lol:

IF you're looking to carry passengers and luggage then I think you'll find a 90 is too small. However £10k should get you a tidy TD5 110. As for seats, the children would be fine in the second row of seats unless you need child seats. LR seats just never seem to work well with kiddy seats.

I love 90/110's,but to be fair in the real world I would pick my old disco any day of the week. It depend what your really after,but I would spend half the 10k on a landy and the other half on servicing and upgrades.
 
My 110 CSW is used as a daily driver, ferries the kids around no problems, including one toddler in a child seat. It does work with defender seats, you just have to make sure you've pulled the seatbelt tight on the back of the seat.

It's all about expectations really, they are perfectly useable as a daily as long as you realise it'll be noisier and draftier than a normal car, and it helps if you aren't afraid of a spanner ;)

I came from a solid and reliable Toyota people carrier and I wouldn't change it for the world :cool:
 
110 all the way. Like mentioned above you can get a damn nice one. As the kids grow more toys will need to be hauled. 110 is more stable

+1, the crazy merkin is right, :rolleyes:;);), you'll all get in a 90 CSW, BUT, there won't be a whole lot of room for anything else, 110 will give you plenty of room for a couple of friends if need be, and all the stuff that kids need to cart around with then;););)
