I've just bought 5 Hurricane alloys wheels. They will be refurbished next week and have new road going tyres fitted.
I'll keep the current wheels with off road tyres for next winter.
I will need 5 centre caps and I see caps online 62mm, 63mm and 65mm.
Whilst I can put a tape measure across the aperture, its hardly accurate especially with 1mm difference!
Correct size would be appreciated.
I'm guessing for safety reasons I will need good brand tyres. I can't see how a 2 ton vehicle will be safe with budget tyres doing 60+ miles per hour and cornering on winding lanes.
What do you use?

My p38 has general grabber at3 16" on
You don't want to be doing 60 on winding lanes, no good will come from that

I can recommend Nexen Rodian M+S for road use, I have them on both mine. Low noise levels, excellent wet road grip and not too expensive.

Why 5? you need to remove the cap to store the spare.

When I had mine I locked it at motorway height, when I fancied a B road blast, on Hurricanes with GG AT2s,
60ish no problem.:)

Finally dropped off the wheels at City Powder Coating in Birmingham. £100 for all 4 wheels in silver sparkle. Also dropped off a very solid fuel tank guard as mine is rotten. They will blast and coat it in black so it should last longer than the original. £60.
I'll post up pictures next Friday when I pick them up.
255/55/18 tyres were around £160 to £180 for top brand tyres so I did a bit of shopping around. I have an account at Costco who will do Goodyears for £130 plus £8.40 each for fitting.
Went to my local tyre centre and they matched it so the wheels will go to them a week Monday.
Not sure what to do with the current L322 wheels and tyres. They are off road Goodyears so probably good for next winter or sell them..........
I'm probably not going off road anytime soon so its hard to justify keeping them.

Sparkle?
The proper finish is mud.

Only issue is. You get more roll at motorway height as the springs are softer and deflated. But they do ride nicer in this height mode.

£25 each, blast and powder coat? Sounds cheap. I've got the same wheels with 3 but mainly 1 that lose air. Shame really because they are in good nick considering their age and I worry that some powder coating places do a half assed job and it peels off sooner rather than later.
I was quoted £80 a wheel at a local (telford) place but they did the lot, drop car off, they remove the wheels and tyres, refurb and refit tyres, balanced , new valves etc.

I always run both mine locked at motorway height unless the lane is flooded.

I'm wondering if there was a change in EAS ECU at some point. When I lock mine in Motorway height, it stays there until next time I re-start and it goes to Normal regardless if the lock switch is still engaged.

I have a MY99 and a MY00, both stay locked at motorway height since I did the white connectors at the base of the A post, the 99 was random before. Not heard of any different operation but anything is possible with JLR.
