Hi, I have a 62 plate FL2 with 80k miles. Recently, it has started to develop a humming noise form the front of the car. The noise is the same whether under load or coasting. It is not present when stationary. Gradually gets worse when going faster, but no difference to noise when turning left or right. The tyres are ok, and so are the wheel bearings. Im not sure if the previous owner changed the transfer box oil and gearbox oil at 10 years, so could be a place to start. The car also needs new front brake discs and pads. Any help appreciated. THank you all

How can you be sure the wheel bearings are okay? I've had similar symptoms where jacking up the front and spinning the wheels by hand I could hear/feel nothing untoward. A few weeks later the hum was a howl, left front bearing was perfectly cool, but was definitely knackered.

Garage confirmed that all bearings were ok. Sounds like a pump or bearing somewhere

The PTU can and does fail, normally about 80k miles if oil changes aren't done at 30k intervals.
The wheel bearings can be tricky to identify on these, as even a failing bearing can feel smooth when the weight of the car isn't on the bearing. The easiest way to test for a failed bearing, is to slowly rotate the wheel, while holding the centre of the spring. The spring will act as an amplifier to any vibration in the bearing, so it can be felt.

But didn't say where the noise was from!?
No noise when stationary would rule out pump.
I'd start with the brakes and pads first if they need doing

Good to know about the pump thank you. Garage couldn’t identify where the noise was coming from. MOT is in a week so will replace pads and discs and go from there
