Hi, to get through the MOT I had to replace the lower ball joint rubber, and while I was in the i decided to change the wheel bearing. After putting it all back together and test driving it I am getting a horrible wheel bearingish noise from the new bearing. It also feels as though it's binding, though that could be my imagination. Could it be a dud bearing, or when hitting the disc to get it off, could I have warped it? If so would a warped disc make that noise? I also changed the track rod link, and have only tracked it with a tape measure. If this was out could it make that noise? Having changed the top ball joint I am still suffering PTSD so I would like to get to the problem as soon as possible. At least it will al come apart again quickly!

Thanks very much

Adam

I would have thought that you'd feel a warped disc through the pedal when applying the brakes. I would be inclined to recheck your installation of the new bearing, paying particular attention to the way the bearing is seated and how the drive shaft nut is tightened. Full details of this job are given in RAVE.

Thank you Brian I will reassess how I fitted it with RAVE. Its possible there is a bit of tremor through the pedal. I will look for witness marks and sounds on Thursday . I need to get over the last round first

Thanks
