That's the front right wheel bearing gone yesterday, jacked up and soaked bolts in wd40, hopefully come off ok today, hubs not due till 27th so no rush, it was not as noticeable as on the D2 possibly due to better soundproofing, who knows, so the old d2 has saved the day, just means the "watts" linkages are put on hold until next year, steering seems heavier, a replacement part for that on the d2 is bound to be more of a bugsy ****up oh well,
 
Did my nsf about a year ago, not to bad at all, just watch the abs sensor with the drive shaft.
What make bearings did you order?
 
The cheap pattern one that the garage fitted when I bought the car lasted all of 15k, so when I did it I used a Timken version.
 
I am afraid that I ordered a cheap hub, times are very hard start back work January, £56 from foundry the timken was about £76 if I had it would have gone for it
 
Timken quality make same as oed £72 but as you say went for the cheap one, hay ho should still be good for 10/15K

15k on the button for my cheap one, 50 miles from home and the abs light came on so like all good mechs thought sod it and kept rolling! got us home, next day jacked up and wheel wobble was pretty dramatic.
Well worth checking the cv gaiters as they can split but thats mainly on the nearside.
 
Thankfully that's my hub arrived, it's a Britpart, with it says on the box a 24 month guarantee, (£53:50) wonder what the small print says lol, anyway it's Xmas eve I better crack on, Happy Xmas to me :)
 
Thanks, I saw it, the problem with the internet/forums clubs and such like, is that everyone after a while thinks they are a garu, now don't take this the wrong way but I could say oh by the way the new figure for front hub torque is 275/nm post and in a few months it is accepted, what I really meant when I said WHO said it was this a revised Manufacturers figure, and where can I see this lol, sorry for being picky but that's the engineer coming out, laughed when I look at all those you tube "expert" shops rattling up the nut with a hammer gun, then saying that's it, , nearly always too tight, stretched threads and all that goes with it, had lots of problems with truck garages 1" impact driver putting on wheel nuts, often took a scaffold pole to loosen, and a new set of nuts required and sometimes studs, long short where did the info come from :)

you probably find the majority are done up with 1/2 inch impact guns, your not going to stretch a cv threaded stub

I know it probably wont ever be stretched, wondered why it was less, that's all, and no one knows where the torque figures came from, but hey it's kool it will just be tightened up, job done, obviously not that important, :)
