Loverly.. Not a good idea to use soldered fittings in an engine. the vibration will crack the joints.

tis a Perkins Prima engine int it. The old Montego Turbo engines were a common swap anorl.

should still be parts available for the engine but check this and if you ever see a spare engine buy it ;)

parts availability is pretty ok water pump is a bit dear tho , excellent engine , work well with a veg oil/diesel mix .

Also the Maestro 2.0 diesel turbo used the same powerplant ;) We used to have one. when it went to the scrapper - typical old Maestro... the Perkins lump went into my mate's series 2 :D He said he decided to lift off the throttle when the speedo indicated 85  !!! FFS :D EDIT - he did have a Fairey overdrive fitted.

Nice bit of useable grunt in those engines. Used to smoke worse than a corporation bus when it came on boost, especially when the missus had been pootling it around. I got used to having to clear its throat! ;)
